Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain.

Step 3 soak the gum with oil by blotting it with the cloth.
After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out.
Gently lift the gum up off of the carpet fibers with a scraping motion.

This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet.
Sponge the gum stain directly with cleaning fluid such as 409.
3 mix a vinegar solution.
Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the frozen gum off the carpet.
You hold a big cube of ice on the gum for a few minutes then the gum will break and you can pick it off the carpet.
You may also apply a dry cleaning solution citrus based degreaser or mineral alcohol to chewing gum.
Step 5 after the gum is completely removed wash the area with warm soapy water to get any oil that is left in the carpet.
Allow it to crack and break into fragments and remove as much as possible.
To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag.
Dry cleaning involves applying a dry powder to your carpet working the powder into the carpet and then vacuuming up the dry powder.
Hit the frozen gum with the back of a metal kitchen utensil breaking it into pieces.
You can use a fingernail brush to help scrape the loosened gum from the carpet.
Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet.
Follow the instructions on the cleaner to determine how much you should use on your carpet.
Direct the wd 40 toward the gum itself and give it a few minutes to soak in and loosen the gum.
Do this until the fibers become springy and start standing upright.
Use the side of a fork to lightly scrape the carpet back and forth.
These substances will dissolve the polymer compounds in chewing gum reducing its sticky properties so it will be easy to remove the chewing gum from the carpet.
Just be careful not to spread the gum to surrounding carpet.
